Nehemiah: Day 21

Weekly Truth

Today's Text: Nehemiah 13:22

Scripture is God-breathed and true. When we memorize it, we carry the gospel with us wherever we go.

This week’s verse is a reminder of God’s grace and compassion.

Remember me for this also, my God, and look on me with compassion according to the abundance of your faithful love.
—Nehemiah 13:22

This makes me think of such symbolism of multiple baptisms for rededicating life, situations, marriage; all reopening eyes as to a physical mark and memory.

  • to everyone who commented on my list yesterday, thank you! It was a big encouragement to know that others were praying for me. We did go to church and I really loved it and think it could very possibly be our church home. I’m working now on praying for and building up the courage to connect with a small group or actually try to meet some people because its a fairly large church and a bit overwhelming.

Small group is a great way to meet people. I also belong to a very large church. I’ve been there for over 20 years now. I met my best friend there. We were pregnant at the same time and now our boys are best friends. And my daughter and her daughter are close friends as well. We met in a small group.

This study of Nehemiah has been so encouraging to me. He prayed before he prepared! What a lesson for me to learn as I seek for what God has for me in this season of life as an empty nester.
