Nehemiah: Day 13

Grace Day

Today's Text: Romans 1:16-17

Use today to pray, rest, and reflect on this week’s reading, giving thanks for the grace that is ours in Christ.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, first to the Jew, and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith, just as it is written: The righteous will live by faith.
—Romans 1:16-17

Amen! As I work in a hospital with a name badge; I can’t help but sport one of the Bible verse cards on the back of my ID so people can read a verse with my encounter! Praise the Lord; for I am supposed to spread the word, just carefully in the workplace setting unfortunately.

So encouraging…I think that when we are hesitant to proclaim the Gospel it is because we forget the very truth that the Gospel has the power to save. We give the power to the person in front of us when we refrain from sharing the truth…I praise God for the strength and grace He gives us as we walk with Him and these timely reminders of truths we have known for decades. ❤️

Giving the power to the person in front of us.. I never thought of it that way and it’s flipped my thinking. Thank you for sharing that! X

  • The necessity and urgency of the gospel is always and everywhere. But as an “overseas worker” in a Muslim country, during Ramadan, overlooking a mosque, listening to the prayer calls, watching the men stream in, seeking but without hope or assurance…I am undone. Remind me of the power of the gospel in my own life, may I not take it for granted or become apathetic, strengthen and embolden me!

  • Good quote! Interesting analogy—- yes muddy lives

  • I recently read this quote by C.S.Lewis and it really struck me how true it is. There are times I have no idea what Lewis is talking about, but this one I got. I am the little child who is mostly tattered and dirty, but God loves me just as I am.

“No amount of falls will really undo us if we keep picking our- selves up each time. We shall of course be very muddy and tattered children by the time we reach home. But the bathrooms are all ready, the towels put out, & the clean clothes are in the airing cupboard. The only fatal thing is to lose one’s temper and give it up. It is when we notice the dirt that God is most present in us; it is the very sign of His presence.”

Good Memorial Day weekend to you all!

from faith ~ indicating a point in time
for faith ~ used to indicate the thing that something is meant to be used with
to faith ~ expressing motion in the direction of; identifying the person or thing affected
by faith ~ identifying the agent performing an action

Contemplating the above and what it means to me. Love GRACE DAY!

The Gospel is the power of God for salvation to those who believe. That right there. There’s power in the Blood. The Gospel always takes me back to the Cross. I bow before Him in worship for what He did. I live to tell so that others will know. That right there. Mission work. Right here. Right now. Powerful.
