Lent 2018: See the Lord's Salvation: Day 13

Grace Day

by

Today's Text: Deuteronomy 7:6

Use today to pray, rest, and reflect on this week’s reading, giving thanks for the grace that is ours in Christ.

For you are a holy people belonging to the LORD your God. The LORD your God has chosen you to be his own possession out of all the peoples on the face of the earth.
—Deuteronomy 7:6

  • Dear Lord, You know what is in my heart. I always pray that you will bless me to finally settle and eliminate all my debts. I pray this opportunity to work in China will be your will and my transition will be smooth. That it will be the second chance you will bless me with to turn my life around. I pray for my friend beth, who is going through the same financial hardship. That she may never lose her faith and that you will be able to bless her to eliminate her debts as well. I pray for good health for my children Gabby and Dylan. I pray for all my friends and loved ones to keep them healthy and safe. In this I pray in your name, Lord. Amen.

To know that I am chosen, wanted and loved by God is such a gift and my comfort on those days when I feel less than. ❤️

I love the MSG version of this verse “Do this because you are a people set apart as holy to GOD, your God. GOD, your God, chose you out of all the people on Earth for himself as a cherished, personal treasure.”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭7:6‬ ‭MSG‬‬

We are set apart because of God not by our own actions.

God sees us as HIS treasure, HIS personal treasure!

The Lord our God Cherishes US!

It’s just so amazing and leaves me in awe at God, MY God!

  • What a humbling thought.

I’ve been blessed reading this week of all the ways God showed his power, might, love, and provision for his people.

  • Denise Powers Fabian

God’s own possession. His treasure. Me?

  • I have been in a “wilderness of sorts” myself. This bible study has been giving me much strength and courage to carry on knowing He is providing for me and guiding me in the best possible way. I’m working on resting on his promises knowing how good He has been to me. I have felt His mercies and I am truly grateful. I am also so thankful for the SRT community. You ladies provide much needed support! Blessings to you all <3

Blessings, Julie! I am also working on resting in His promises. Praying for you ♡

“I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” (Philippians 4:13) This is the verse I have learned to live by since the death of George. My sister-in-law gave it to me the Christmas after my son died. I pray to God every day for the strength to make it through work. I am a nurse (been one for 38 1/2 years) and some days I really need the strength. May God bless you, all my sisters in Christ.

Reading about the mighty acts of God in this week’s readings have been such a joy. ❤️❤️

  • The Lord God has chosen me! Two days ago we read “He will fight for you”. Though life is hard, I keep hearing from my God that he is looking after me. I am HIS. He’s got this! Blessings to you all my dear sisters I look forward each morning to meet with you all.

I love the NIV reading of this scripture: “For you are a people holy to the Lord your God. The Lord your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be His people, His treasured possession.” He has chosen me, and I am His treasured possession. It fills me with the confidence to step out into this world today knowing Who I belong to.

I am chosen and cherished by the One who truly matters.

  • I was never really picked for anything growing up. So the truth that Almighty God, the Creator of the Universe, picked me leaves me speechless and so grateful.
Also, I wanted to give ya’ll an update on my husband. He had open-heart surgery last Friday. The surgery went perfectly. But, we had a small setback in coming home because his colon and small intestines have had a hard time waking up. This caused a lot of pain, gas, and bloating. As of yesterday we were finally beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Hopefully, he will get to go home today or tomorrow.
I cannot begin to tell you how much your prayers have meant. We have felt every word spoken over us. God has been so faithful and so compassionate and tender towards us. The past month has been both the worst and the best. The worst was the worry and anxiety and fear that we felt facing such major surgery. The best was the incredible way that God ministered to us and the things that He has taught me. I could write pages of the ways that God sent just what I needed just when I needed it. He has protected us physically, spiritually, and emotionally. It has been a journey that I don’t think I want to do again, but oh, the things I have learned – be present right now, trust God to take the next step, lean on friends, let them do for you when they can, rest, breathe, lean into God’s presence, wait, be still, fret not…I could go on, but I won’t.
Thank you again, my sweet sisters in Christ. I am so glad we get to do this journey together. Be blessed!

    • Susan

    • Mari

Thank you so much for updating us! That is just amazing news. Praying that all works out so that you can bring him home soon.

    • Rachel

I’m so glad! You should record all He is doing in and through you during the past month and this season(in your own private journal). It will be a sweet testimony to look back on! So you’ll never forget the realness of what you’re feeling/experiencing now! May God continue to provide and bless you and your husband!

    • Julie

Blessings to you and your husband. Continued Prayers for complete and full recovery!
