Advent 2017: Joy to the World: Day 14

Grace Day

Today's Text: John 1:14

Advent is a season of anticipation and celebration. We long for the promised Savior’s return, even as we rejoice that He has already come to us. Use this day to pause and reflect on this verse which describes the fullness of God the Father seen in Christ the Son.

The Word became flesh and dwelt among us. We observed his glory, the glory as the one and only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
- John 1:14

  • Oh, to observe your glory! Feeling blessed

    Oh happy day!

  • Am I missing something? I was looking for today’s devotional….

    • Annissa

I understand the intent to be for us to reflect on the power and gift of God’s grace. He sent Christ into this world as a man of flesh and blood so that we can understand that we need Him in order to be with the Father in Heaven. As humans, we have to “see” things in order to believe them. I am reminded how stubborn I am needing “proof” of something before trusting. Too often, I am waiting for the “next” thing. Today, I am reminded that God has already given me everything I need. I need to focus on how amazing that is today. He sacrificed so much to pay my debt. Praising God for His generous grace and mercy.

  • The Word became flesh. I can’t imagine doing life without my Jesus!

  • Revelation 1:4-5
“Grace to you and peace from him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven spirits who are before his throne, and from Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of kings on earth.”

May we behold His glory and be captivated by Him today. ❤️

  • Apart about this

  • Hebrews 1:3
He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,

  • 1 Timothy 3:16
Great indeed, we confess, is the mystery of godliness: He was manifested in the flesh, vindicated by the Spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among the nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.

“We observed His glory…” Yes! I do not want to overlook His glory which is all around me. Open my eyes, Lord. Reveal more of Yourself to me. Amen.

  • Loida Fernandez

    He moved into the neighborhood!

  • Beautiful. Just what I needed tonight.
