Go Tell It on the Mountain: Day 6

Grace Day

by

Today's Text: Psalm 146:2

Take this day as an opportunity to catch up on your reading, pray, and rest in the presence of the Lord.

I will praise the LORD all my life;
I will sing to my God as long as I live.
—Psalm 146:2

I pray that my actions and my words reflect back to my Heavenly Father. Lord, anoint me with your Holy Spirit. Control my untamable tongue. Break my heart for what breaks Yours.

For the past week, Psalm 51:15 has been on my heart and mind and today’s verse reminds me of it,

“O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will declare your praise.”

Thank you Lord, that we were created to be people of praise, may we always carry a song in our heart and may our mouths always be filled with your praise!

  • Beautiful verse

  • I am so loving this hymn study. I have so much to praise God for. I started making a list and could probably sit here all day adding to it. Leaving my journal open and every time I think of something I’ll add it to the page.
    Be blessed, sisters!

That’s a great idea, Kathy! We know we have many blessings, but to write out every single tiny thing and look at that paper….it’s got to be incredible!

This is the premise of Ann Vos Kamp’s book One Thousand Gifts. A great read!

I found myself keeping my mind off a certain circumstance by singing Count Your Blessing in my head, something new for me with being reintroduced to this lovely hymn ☺

Similarly, I’ve tried to make a habit of writing a Thank You journal at the end of each day. It was impressed upon me by the Lord to thank Him for the many ways he blessed me in the day. It’s not an exhaustive list. I just fill one page with whatever comes to mind. Some things I write nearly every day (a loving family, our home, his love and his word), but I also thank him for the little things that I may otherwise forget (a warm evening breeze, protecting me from a fender-bender in the parking lot). It has helped me to become more attentive to his presence in every aspect of my life. Reassuring indeed!

  • Yes indeed!

This verse is an awesome mission statement for every believer!

  • Praising the Lord for our baby boy, he’s a month old now, and so precious.
