Romans: Day 41

Grace Day

Today's Text: Ephesians 5:1-2

Take this day as an opportunity to catch up on your reading, pray, and rest in the presence of the Lord.

Therefore, be imitators of God, as dearly loved children, and walk in love, as Christ also loved us and gave himself for us, a sacrificial and fragrant offering to God.
—Ephesians 5:1-2

So much good to meditate on here. I have been reading a book with some friends about parenting. Ultimately, I hope that the way I live my life imitates God and His love for us. Clearly, I will fail many times. Thank God that Christ’s sacrificial and fragrant offering covers all my broke attempts.

  • Kelly Hiller

Thank you Lord that just as I was about to share something with my husband about a fellow ctian, I knew that was not (believing the best) as we are unstructed to do in regards to others as in 1 Cor chap 13.

  • So grateful to have this community of sisters to pray for one another.

  • … listening to this hymn as I reflect on this study. Thank you all so much for your wise words, your trust in asking for prayers and support, your zeal in pursuing Truth, your willingness to discuss and give clarification on the confusing sections of Paul’s letter to the Romans, and your beauty of spirit! I hope to see some of you ‘around the base’ – perhaps in another study or at another website. Be well … peace and hope!

  • Pamela Jo

Praying for Marilyn, for good health and a speedy recovery. May she feel Gods peace.

  • Praying for your sister, Karen. May God bring comfort to her and your entire family during this scary time.

  • churchmouse

So grateful that I am God’s dearly loved child. How can I thank him except to imitate my Father and walk in His love? Perhaps someone will be drawn to Him through me. There is always room for more in His family.

  • Karen From Virginia

Remember you are dearly loved children of God. I’m letting that sink in today.
And if it’s okay to give a prayer request– please pray for my sister Marilyn who is having her leg amputated today due to serious infection. It’s rough. Her heart isn’t real strong either. Thanks.

    • churchmouse

Praying right now for Marilyn – that this severe surgery will restore her health and that the days ahead are far better than the ones behind. And praying for you Karen, that you would be an encourager and a support to her.

    • Kathleen

Praying, Karen, for your sister – that the surgery would go well, for healing in the coming days, and for the Lord to help Marilyn hear His voice so near to her in this time

    • Prayed right now! Karen. Praying that you’d be strong for her.
