John: Day 27

Grace Day

Today's Text: Isaiah 32:17

Take this day as an opportunity to catch up on your reading, pray, and rest in the presence of the Lord.

The result of righteousness will be peace;
the effect of righteousness
will be quiet confidence forever.

    I love this verse <3

  • Olivia , I struggle with many of the same issues. I’m praying for you.
Praying that I can find peace and quietness in the midst of my To Do List!

  • Sarah D.

Hi again, if you could all also pray that I can find time to study and do my homework, I have a lot to do and it’s been busy this past week and this weekend. Please pray that I can have peace and not get down about it.

wow this very powerful verse. I needed this so bad today. God thank you for the reminder.

  • I needed this, this morning. Peace and quietness. I need to be still and know that HE IS GOD!

  • Sarah D.

Love this verse! I’m performing the song, How Far I’ll Go, from the new movie Moana at the Disney cabaret night tonight through my high school’s chorus! If you guys could please pray for quiet peace and confidence for me, to just have fun and not be too nervous and not to mess up. I feel like I’m such a perfectionist with this stuff, I wish I didn’t get so red faced and have butterflies in my stomache… but I just need to remember that God is with me and that He is in control. Thank you all!

The Lord is with you and surely smiling upon you as you use your gifts to glorify Him, Sarah D.! Praying for your peace all day leading up to your performance as you prepare, and for extra peace and boundless joy and gladness during and after your performance as well! May you feel the Holy Spirit take over as He floods that place with beautiful song through you. I ask these things in the Name of our dear Lord Jesus. Amen!

Oh and…HAVE SO MUCH FUN!! You’ll be great!

    • Hannah

Praying for you! You’ll do great!

    • Ashley Martin

Praying for you! We’ll all be with you in spirit!!

Thank you guys, it went really great!! I didn’t even feel that nervous (even though I felt nervous during the day leading up to it…haha. I messed up a little but it wasn’t very noticeable. And a lot of people told me they loved it, so that made me really happy. I love the song cause it reminds me that God is within me and that I actually know “the Way”. He’s the only way! Wow, gotta remember that. Thank you for your prayers!

  • Even reading the words “quiet confidence” makes me feel calm and peaceful!

  • This verse struck a chord with me for the second time. I went to highlight it in my Bible and it was already, from July 30, 2016. I guess I needed a gentle reminder. Thank you!

  • The Lord has been teaching me how to abide in Him. A huge part of that has been learning how to be still and quiet before Him. I love how this verse says quiet confidence and peace. Just what I needed this morning.

  • I’ve so been struggling with peace and confidence lately. I’m such a perfectionist and control freak that I find it hard to allow the loving peace of Jesus to take control for me! I’m realizing more and more how important little routines of thankfulness have on allowing God’s grace in. Small details and everyday habits used to feel so insignificant to me, but lately I feel like God has been teaching me how he cares for all people and all things, no matter how small! Anybody else struggle with wanting to focus on the big picture so often that you miss the details he has crafted for us? Lately, I’ve especially been trying to feel thankfulness and grace for something as mundane as rising in the morning! So thankful for something to get up for to focus my heart in the morning, SRT community. ❤

Olivia, you should read Ann Voskamp’s book 1000 Gifts. It’s about gratitude and learning how to name the graces. She encourages you to name 3 things everyday that you’re thankful for. It really changed how I look at my life.

    • Millie

Yes those are my biggest problems. I try to control so much and everything that I believe the lie that God’s will is true and perfect for my life. I think that I have to be the best and don’t always believe God’s will is perfect.

Who would not want peace and quiet confidence? Thank you for this promise.

  • churchmouse

Peace. Quiet confidence. Oh how our world, which seems to live in a constant clamor, needs this. And I, who live too often in fear and worry, need this too, right here in my little world. The world needs the righteousness which comes from faith in Jesus. And I who do believe need to walk in the Truth. Just put one foot in front of the other, not swayed by the world, but secure in Christ in it. Peaceful. Quietly confident. Yes. Yes, please .
