The Beatitudes: Day 7

Weekly Truth

by

Today's Text: Matthew 5:3-6

Memorizing Scripture is one of the best ways to carry God-breathed truth, instruction, and reproof wherever we go.  This week, we’re memorizing the first four beatitudes (and next week we’ll memorize the last four!).

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.
—Matthew 5:3-6

We want to be a community that is intentional about Scripture memorization. Will you join us?

When I wholly rely on God, when I grieve to the very depths of my soul, when I remain submitted to the authority of the Father, and when I am solely focused on following hard after Jesus, I experience the kingdom of heaven, true and complete comfort, the joys of the earth and full satisfaction. All in Him and through Him. Praising God for these truths today!

I just wrote this scripture down and am making a commitment to my SRT friends to memorize this! I am so thankful that my daughter-in-law introduced me to SRT!

  • My church has Wednesday night classes we call SLU (Spiritual Life University). The class I’ve been taking on discipleship has a new memory verse every week. Memorizing scripture is a definite way to keep God’s word in your heart and in your mind. We can do this ladies!
