Joshua: Day 20

Grace Day

Today's Text: Matthew 11:28-30

Take this day as an opportunity to catch up on your reading, pray, and rest in the presence of the Lord.

“Come to Me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.  All of you, take up My yoke and learn from Me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for yourselves. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
—Matthew 11:28-30

Very blessed today with above reading. Have been feeling low…under attack. But this I know, GOD IS IN CONTROL. I was saved with this Wprd of Scripture..Come to me all you who are weary and burdened……41 years ago. HE has never failed me yet. Praise God.

Praying Psalm 13 over all of you under attack today. God is faithful and He is with you in all things. So grateful to Him that He allows us to bring our concerns and put them at the foot of the altar. Nothing is too big for Him. He loves His daughters and only wants the best for us all. But the enemy prowls around and tries to convince us that is not true. But the Word of our God says otherwise. Praying for peace, comfort, healing, wisdom, courage and contentment.

Praying for you sisters who are in need. God is with you! For the unknown that awaits may you have strength and courage & for complete healing. Our God is full of grace and with fresh opportunities to pursue him every day. You are his beloved and always will be. He misses you! As we earnestly seek Him out, He will always show us the way.

  • Reading this verse just filled me with such quiet hope and subtle joy- it was perfect! Just what I needed! I’ve been recently feeling a bit lost in my faith, and am hoping that quiet times like these remind me of why I believe and why my faith is an integral part of who I am. If it is not too much to ask, please pray for me that I find my way back to God in whatever way He sees fit, and to help me be totally dependent on Him. <3

Praying knowing that even as you tentatively reach out to Him, He has His arms open wide. He always pursues and always welcomes us back. I pray that you will take time reading His Word, praying and meeting with other believers who can encourage you. You’ll be so glad you did!

This verse is so perfect for me today! My mom is driving me 2 1/2 hrs away to a hospital er because the hospital near me can’t figure out what’s making me sick. I’m in so much pain. Thank you Lord for this timely reminder

Praying for healing first and foremost. And then for wisdom for the doctors and effective treatment if needed. May you and your mom feel His presence and have peace

Last night I was in this verse… a four month old, a four year old and a husband who is in a deep pit constantly threatening divorce makes me very very tired some days. Some days are so long and I know without a doubt the enemy is waiting, ‘he prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour’. The enemy knows when I am tired I am weakest. I will be tempted to bite back at my husbands words or behaviour and/or be less patient with the baby and toddler. But 1Peter 5:6-7, says for us to humble ourselves under his mighty power…and to cast our cares on Him. It’s not about me, it’s about Him. He will give me the rest I need to serve Him. I can’t do it on my own, He can’t give himself glory if I take it upon myself. Glory to you God for the strength you give to us, let your power & love flow through to all those around us. Thank you for giving us rest & carrying our burdens. Thank you, Lord.

Cecilia, God knows how heavy your burden is, and He is holding you up right now. I am praying for you. May our Awesome God give you peace and strength.

    • Laurie

Cecilia, As I sit here and wonder about y future and how to be closer to God when I have so much to do, and how distant I feel from him, I see you. You have the reasons all around you to throw your hands up and let the enemy have his way and yet you are here, reminding us/me that we are as close to God as we choose. You keep choosig, and I know that the promises are going to come alive for you sister. We may not see it now, and you are so right: the Gory IS HIS

    • Anne

Celia I wish I could give you a hug and pray with you. I was in a place of darkness and feeling lost/helpless of what to do in a similar situation. God brought me through and my children. Prayer for you-strength and peace in God.

    • churchmouse

Praying for you and your family. With God, nothing is impossible. So awesome that you are holding tightly to Him who is absolutely trustworthy.

      • Cecilia

Oh Ladies, your words of encouragement and prayers are deeply appreciated. I’m really thankful for you. This is my valley right now and at some point, in His timing, I will stand on the mountain with Him. Every marriage has a ‘winter’ – a cold, hard season & this is ours. The more focus is on Jesus and being a servant, the more every little bit of life improves. Listening to worship songs like Third Day’s Mountain of God & I can’t make it through Casting Crown’s ‘Just be Held’ without a tear..these songs are soooooo encouraging. This Joshua study is powerful SRT! He is FAITHFUL.

The pundits and the pollsters are busy contemplating how their predictions of the election failed so badly. Those whose candidate did not win are bewildered and angry. TV commentators ask what the Democratic party should do next. How will the nation unify under this new leader? The questions are many. The challenges look insurmountable. Solutions seem so vague and varied. The future is uncertain. This election has certainly made us all weary and burdened. This verse tells me we will not be at rest unless we turn to the only One who can provide it. We will find rest when we come to Him. Oh let us pray fervently and speak boldly. Let us move forward as His ambassadors, loving others enough to tell them the Truth.

    • Naomi

Amen Churchmouse! “…loving others enough to tell them the truth.” Lord help me to speak the truth in love!”

  • I love this promise and I find myself clinging to it more and more these days. Some weeks are so busy and fast paced that I get so tired and weary but then He brings this verse to my mind and I remember to rest in Him and ask for strength to get through the day and He provides. When I don’t know how I can ever make it through the thing I am going through I remember this verse and ask Him to carry my burden and He does. I am go grateful! Thank you Lord!

  • Thank you Lord for your promise of rest. An anxious night. So much fear out there. Please bring peace to our nation. Lord, help me be a part of the healing process. Help me to be a better friend, neighbor, mother, wife. Help me be the best American that I can be and help our country prove, once again, that we can be united, in your love. Let us focus on building a community of respect and dignity for everyone. I love you Lord Jesus and trust in your faithfulness.

    • Anne

Thank you Bg for your words/prayer. I am praying those same words
