Announcing “Worthy of Praise: A Collection of Hymns”

Hey there, friends! We’re so glad to connect with you here—to share what God’s doing here at #SRThq and what’s next for the #SheReadsTruth community. While we’re always super excited to have a reason to celebrate news with you, today’s reading plan announcement is different in the best of ways.

Many of you have been with She Reads Truth long enough to know of our great affection for the hymns of the Church. Hymns are a beautiful way to express the truth of God’s Word in song and to let the good news of the gospel sink down deep into our hearts. And though we’ve studied a few hymns together here and there in the past—and even recorded a Hymns album last year!—we’ve never done a full Hymns reading plan, complete with a real (and really beautiful!) She Reads Truth study book. Well, friends, it’s time!

Introducing “Worthy of Praise: A Collection of Hymns,” a 2-week She Reads Truth reading plan, beginning October 10, that invites us to explore ten favorite hymns and the Scripture that inspired them.

The practice of singing hymns together is a touchstone that connects us with both the early Church of the past, and the present Church worldwide. God is not bound by time, and He works through all time and history. These ten hymns, inspired by Scripture, are a way for us to sing truths from the Bible together—not only with our contemporaries, but with believers through the ages.

Now, don’t worry; you don’t need to be a musician to participate in and enjoy this study! Whether you’re a worship leader or shower singer, we pray this Scripture reading plan will draw you closer to God through His Word.

Of course, we can’t wait to introduce you to this very special edition SRT study book and tell you all of the fun features you’ll find inside!

You’ll notice these books are semi-concealed coil-bound—that’s so it can sit upright on your music stand to play the sheet music included with each day! We’ve also written a short introduction to accompany each hymn, to frame the historical context and deepen our understanding of the connections between the scriptures and the hymn.

In short, this book is both study book and hymn book, and we hope you love it!

Mark your calendars NOW for the “Worthy of Praise” reading plan, starting on and on the She Reads Truth app on October 10! We’ll see you there.
