Acts: Day 13

Grace Day

by

Today's Text: Acts 3:19

Seeing the depth of our sin, a painful sight though it is, brings freedom when it compels us to confession and repentance.

Take this day as an opportunity to catch up on your reading, pray, and rest in the presence of the Lord. Pray this Scripture for a specific person in your life and for yourself:

Therefore repent and turn back, so that your sins may be wiped out, that seasons of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord
-Acts 3:19

  • “Repent and turn back”
This is a daily need for me as I repeatedly think of my own failures, which do NOT define my life. I am very blessed. I pray for communication and kindness. If I lack these things , maybe that’s why I seek them.

  • Continue to be strong Alexandra. Pray for strength and patience as you recover.

  • Amen! Thank you Jesus for your grace and mercy and allowing us to repent for our sins! It’s my prayer everyday that he wipe the son from my life so that I may be closer and more obedient to him!

This is a very powerful verse for me. As someone who is struggling to overcome an addiction, this verse reminds me that my sins can be blotted out and I will be closer to God when I surrender myself to Him.

  • This is without a doubt what I struggle with most. “Circling around and around my sin” is something I do every single day. It’s hard to move forward with God, when I’m always reminding myself of my sins.

  • As simple as today was, it really struck me. When the Holy Spirit convicts me of my sin, I don’t go through the stages of confession and repentance as I should. Although, as mentioned, they bring freedom from our current sin struggle. Instead, I find myself quick to shame, defeat and frustration. I replay in my head, over and over, “how could you let this happen again!?!?” Instead of grabbing hold of my freedom, I circle around and around the sin, trying to figure it all out or fix it for the future. It’s amazing that the Lord offers immediate freedom from our sin. He asks for confession and repentance; that’s it. No shame. No guilt. I am so thankful for this lesson today!

“Instead of grabbing hold of my freedom, I circle around and around the sin, trying to figure it all out or fix it for the future.” Loved this and needed it, thanks for your insight. If letting go of our sins was just easier! It’s a constant struggle for me which is almost silly, given God’s grace within reach.

Yes. A season of refreshing. Not just a day. But a season. I could so use that! I know it will require the hard work of honest introspection, confession and repentance. But it will be worth it for a season of refreshing. Ahhhh……

    • Dana

      Amen, Amen!! It sounds wonderful.

I loves the second part in Acts 20….so that times of refreshment will come from the presence of the Lord.

Sounds wonderful to me!! Especially in this hot and humid weather it’s easy awesome to remember And experience the Lords presence as refreshing! Very powerful to remember that not only is repenting something that will please the Lord and something that will also help us, but something that will also provide a season of refreshment to us
