A Worldwide, Month-Long Christmas Party!

Yes, we’ve already posted once today. But we can’t help ourselves – today is the first Sunday of Advent and we have this recipe and invitation that we can’t bear not to share with our people!

There’s just something about warm, spicy drinks around the holidays, isn’t there? They stir up memories in our minds like first snowfalls and crackling fires and being with people we love. That’s why we love this recipe so much.

Our Christmas wish is to have one great big party with all the Shes who read Truth all over the world! (Seriously though, wouldn’t that be incredible?)

Since we can’t (Save the Date for a She-party in Heaven), let’s do the next best thing. Wherever you are, sometime this month, take a day to mull spices and sip cider and thank God for His provision of this community of women in the Word all over the globe.

Make this recipe (created by a fellow She, Christina Stainbrook!), and when you drink it, know you are very likely drinking cider and celebrating Advent with another “She” somewhere in the world.

Let’s enjoy a month-long celebration of all God has done, is doing, and will continue to do. Even if we can’t be together, we can celebrate Immanuel: God with us!

(Just for fun – take a photo of you with your cider and share it on social media with the hashtag #SheCiderParty so we can have a virtual Christmas party!)

Shes’ All-Day Spicy Cider

4 cups apple Juice
2 cups cranberry juice
1 cup orange juice
1 orange
1 apple
whole cinnamon sticks

Pour all the juices into a large dutch oven over medium heat. Slice the apple and orange and attach cloves. Place the apple and orange slices and whole cinnamon sticks in the dutch oven (they should remain floating). Mull on medium to low heat for 2-3 hours. Just before guests arrive, increase the temperature so it steams. Ladle in mugs and serve with a cinnamon stick.

Happy 1st Sunday of Advent!

  • Ah yes, nicely put, evrenoye.

  • It looks good and tasty

  • Erin Miles

This is the cutest thing ever

  • How many does the cider serve? I want to make some for my roommates :)

  • Thanks!

  • I have the same question/concern. I was hoping for an all in one deal for the cost of this book. I have a Bible to go to for the verses, but to have to get the devotional separately in my email is disappointing and another step I have to take when I get the hard copy journal to get away from technology in the first place. The devotional on page 143-250 doesn’t make sense….there aren’t 250 pages and there is no devotional content present on or around 143. Can a SRT rep please help us with this concern? Thank you!! :)

  • Joyfullmom

Can someone help me…, I bought the advent book. It’s beautiful. But where’s the devotional? So I now must pay an additional fee in order to access the online app?? The book was not cheap. Why the additional fee?

    • Amanda

The devotional is available for free on the SRT website. I’m not sure why there’s an additional fee for the app. I agree, it should be free for those who’ve purchased the advent book. It’s quite pricey! But it’s gorgeous.

    • Gracie Church

The devotional is in the middle of the book on page 143-250.

  • Jeri taira

Aw thank you for the cider

  • Love this idea so much! Since I’m living in the dorms at college and don’t have a dutch oven on hand (lol), this will have to wait until Christmas break. But I will be thinking about all of the wonderful She’s throughout this season of Advent!

  • I’m with you Laura! I live in far North Queensland , so icy is the go! Love SRT!

  • I think I’ll put this over ice here in Australia this Summer Christmas! But will certainly be celebrating right alongside you!

    • Amanda

Laura, where in Australia are you? I’m in the ACT…would love to have a shereadstruth celebration gathering, if you’re close. ;)

  • I don’t like Cider so I’ll do Hot Chocolate instead :)

  • Ruthie Moore

    Love LoveLove this!!!

  • Olivia Chambers

This looks so good! I think I’ll make some today and drink it while I do the 2nd day of Advent Bible study.

  • candacejo

Love this! I make wassail every Christmas…just because I can. Love it and this recipe is very close to my own. Can’t wait to see everyone’s pictures. Here we go a wassailing! ♥

  • I love this!!
So gonna make this this evening. ..I’ll leave the door open should anyone fancy popping round..He. He.

  • where’s the cider? hee hee

  • Any set amount of cloves? Or appropriate substitute for ground cloves (not as good, but already have that on hand)

    • Marianne

I counted 44. :D Can´t advise you on the amount of ground cloves, but I warmly recommend you buying whole cloves on your next shopping trip. Besides enriching stews they are such a great decoration tool: Just prick them into an orange in a nice pattern and you have a beautiful scented gift (great occupation for pre-schoolers btw) :)

  • Ali Marchetti

    Looks so good!

  • I love the book. It is so pretty. I’m excited about the study.

  • Oh yum! Guaranteed to make the house smell amazing!!!

  • kirsteenmurray

  • kirsteenmurray

  • Clara Madok

I can’t wait to try it! It sound delicious!

  • Sounds wonderful!

  • That looks DEVINE!! Can’t wait to try this recipe and celebrate with all of you. THANK YOU to the creators of SRT! This truly has been such a blessing in my life and has helped me to enjoy being in the word more than ever. Having a community of women who read together strengthens the body of Christ. Whether in person or in spirit, near or far, we are ONE BODY in Christ. May you be abundantly blessed as we end this year and go into a new year and new season. God is doing great things and we’re all so blessed to be a part of His great plan ❤️

  • Not gonna lie, not a fan of cloves… ;) But that looks so beautiful & yummy. Hopefully I can re-create this in some way!!! Parties in the She-Houses! Lol
