Philippians: Day 14

Weekly Truth

Today's Text: Philippians 3:10

We believe memorizing scripture is one of the best ways to carry the Word of our God with us wherever we go—to have God-breathed truth, instruction and reproof in our hearts and minds as we live unto Him each day.

This week we’ve chosen these words from Paul’s joy letter:

My goal is to know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings…
-Philippians 3:10

Write this verse down—copy it twenty times if that helps! Post it on your mirror or at your desk, in your car or on the fridge—anywhere you’ll see it often. Save the image below as your phone’s lock screen so you can read these words of truth throughout the day.

We want to be a community that is intentional about scripture memorization. Will you join us?

  • May I add a reference for further study? There is a powerful sermon archived by Rev. Charles Spurgeon online at this link entitled “Do You Know Him?” taken from this very scripture. Blessings as you seek to know Jesus.

  • BlessedandFavored

This has been a great study and this scripture sums it up for me I want to know him better by my fellowship with him.

  • I recently read a friend’s blog where she poured her heart out, saying “there were a couple times in the midst of my most painful days that part of me was afraid for it to end because I didn’t want to stop needing Jesus. Don’t wish the pain away”. And it made me think of this verse & here we are studying if today! To be a part of the fellowship of His sufferings, that it might tether our hearts more tightly to Him. May that be my goal, Lord, to know you and the power of your resurrection and the fellowship of your suffering. May we never stop needing you, Jesus!

Wow! That’s a great to view suffering. Thank you for Sharing that! May we cling to God no matter the circumstance!

  • Oh no! You must have updated your website and now for me it runs incredibly slowly!

    • Haley P

Yes, I agree. Since they updated it I’m having a really hard time navigating around the website on my phone, it’s just not working as properly as before. :(

  • Beautiful!

  • There is always joy to be found amidst our sufferings! Perfect reminder for this week!

  • thanks!

  • churchmouse

Ah, to grasp that sometimes God asks us to do the hard thing, that fellowship of His sufferings. Yet, if He has called us to it, He will see us through it – because we know Him and the power of His Resurrection. Amen

  • Thanks so much for this. Am I the only one having difficulty saving this image?

    • Sarah M

I can’t get it to save either. :(

    • Raechel Myers

Thanks for letting us know! Working out glitches as the new site (!!!!) rolls out — we’ll see if we can figure it out!! xoxo

  • Elisabeth

For me, I think saying “I want to know God more” is easy, but then comes the part with the suffering – I often seem to struggle on that one. Thank you for reminding me today that faith isn’t always supposed to be easy, but that God is there with us even through suffering – and that he suffered the most for us to be rescued and to have an eternity free of suffering.

    • Christine

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. It struck a chord in my heart that I really needed today.

  • Just wanted to say thank you SheReadsTruth Ephesians and Philippians has been just what I needed to hear. It has challenged me and both have just flowed brilliantly into each other. I can’t wait for Collosians!! #BringItOnGod I so long to be maturer in my faith
