Philippians: Day 13

Grace Day

Today's Text: Philippians 3:20-21

We can all use a grace day, can’t we? Take this day as an opportunity to catch up, pray, and just rest in the presence of the Lord. Pray the scripture below for a specific woman in your life and for yourself.

But our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. He will transform the body of our humble condition into the likeness of His glorious body, by the power that enables Him to subject everything to Himself.
- Philippians 3:20-21

Our disappointment in our bodies are not of the Lord. We await his return because the perfection we seek is only within Him, and the perfect love that He has for us.

I thank God that this is not my final resting place!

Or earthly bodies are so flawed. I’m 23 and have a medical history that I have to face with humor to cope with. He has protected me from so much more severe conditions, but nonetheless it’s such a relief to read this and feel his promises wash over me. I will be given a flawless, healthy, glorious body vessel to live in forevermore! The things I struggle with in this body will pass away with the rest of the earthly parts of me and reveal only the glory parts. Hallelujah!

  • It is so powerful to pray these Grace Day verses over ourselves + “a specific woman in our lives” …having a hard time entering in after a busy couple of days, like me? Pray the prayer for a specific woman in your life FIRST. Bringing her name to the throne opened my heart today to all the ways I need to pray. Thank you SRT.

  • Roman citizenship was a high prize in this day, it was sought and treasured and looked upon highly. And our Jesus, He makes us citizens of the greatest kingdom. How much more should we prize heaven and our King than anything else this world can offer? Thankful that He does the transforming and the redeeming! Jesus is the most important thing

  • Happy weekend to all of you lovely ladies. It is such a joy to be reading the Word with you!

  • Beautiful reminder!

  • What a great reminder!

  • Hallelujah!!!! Blessed weekend all

Ah.. Thinking today about that citizenship also. And thrilled that you dear sister-citizens, from all over this globe, will be gathered with me in heaven! An SRT party as we greet each other and put a face, and a hug, to those we’ve shared with here over the years. It will be awesome! (I have chill bumps!)

  • Amen! Have a blessed weekend, sisters!

  • Amen! Thank you ladies!

  • Two things from Matthew Henry´s commentary I couldn´t pass up sharing:

    1. " Citizenship is where your greatest privileges and concerns lie." Truth! Where can you feel completely at ease, exercise your rights, and come and go as you please. Where are you most concerned for the well-being of people and places? When I start to think of Heaven this way it makes me smile and start to dream about what God has prepared for us there. (I´ve mentioned it before, but Louie Giglio´s "A Matter of Life and Death" series does a phenomenal job of breaking down Heaven scripturally.)

    2. "It is good having fellowship with those who have fellowship with Christ." When I think about 2 friends in particular, I know they´re on their knees in the morning, in the Word everyday, and doing just this, having true fellowship with Christ. These are the most open and beautiful conversations because I feel like I´m bring reflected the face of Christ in these girls.

Praying that our fellowship with Christ would be rich as we hunker down before going out this morning.

  • Thank you Lord!

  • Amen.

  • For someone who has struggled with both belonging and acceptance..(from others), …because of rejection issues, (that are being worked on), This right here.., these great and God inspired words, are the TRUTH I need to hear…that I need to store in my heart, for those days when I struggle…These words right here are The Good News that fills me with hope….

'We, however are citizens of heaven,' .. I just need to say that again…what sweet words to my ears.. 'We, however, are citizens of heaven, and we eagerly wait for our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ to come from heaven…He will change our weak mortal bodies and make them like His own glorious body, using that power by which He is able to bring all things under His rule..'
Sewing these words on my heart, this morning…..

    Thank you SRT,

Praying the Lord God turn His face to shine on you today and over the weekend in all you do …..hugs from across the pond..xxxx
