First, can we tell you how encouraged and ecstatic we are about your response to yesterday’s announcement?! We are thrilled that so many of you want to join us in reading through the Bible in 2015—and we can’t wait to start #365DaysOfTruth with you!
As we walk through the final days of 2014 and through the door to a brand new year, we want you to know we praying for you.
We are praising the Lord for your ministry to one other within this beautiful, worldwide community. We are thanking Him for the way you point your friends, your neighbors, your families, and us to Jesus. We are marveling at how He has brought all of us together in this online-meets-real-life space, and how He so graciously continues to bring more sisters to this table.
As you turn the page to a new calendar year and new possibilities, new challenges and new joys, new mercies and the boundless grace of Christ, we are praying for you and with you.
Below is a New Year prayer from one of our team’s favorite books on prayer, The Valley of Vision. Would you pray this with us as we lay before the Lord the days that are past and those that are to come—acknowledging Him as the Giver of days, the Redeemer of our souls, and the Receiver of all glory? May we use the coming days as an opportunity not to merely make lists and clean out closets, but to reorient our hearts and our gaze to the One in whom our only hope rests, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Length of days does not profit me
except the days are passed in Thy presence,
in Thy service, to Thy glory.
Give me a grace that precedes, follows, guides,
sustains, sanctifies, aids every hour,
that I may not be one moment apart from Thee,
but may rely on Thy Spirit
to supply every thought,
speak in every word,
direct every step,
prosper every work,
build up every mote of faith,
and give me a desire
to show forth Thy praise,
testify Thy love,
advance Thy kingdom.
I launch my bark on the unknown waters of this year,
with Thee, O Father as my harbor,
Thee, O Son, at my helm,
Thee O Holy Spirit, filling my sails.
Guide me to heaven with my loins girt,
my lamp burning,
my ear open to Thy calls,
my heart full of love,
my soul free.
Give me Thy grace to sanctify me,
Thy comforts to cheer,
Thy wisdom to teach,
Thy right hand to guide,
Thy counsel to instruct,
Thy law to judge,
Thy presence to stabilize.
May Thy fear by my awe,
Thy triumphs my joy.
We love you, sweet friends!
