At the time of this post, the She Reads Truth Christmas party is LESS THAN TWO HOURS AWAY! Wheeee! We hope you’ll join us tonight at 7pm CST/8pm EST for an hour of joyful celebration with our friends—musical guest Ellie Holcomb and author/speaker Angie Smith. Just click this link to join us. We can’t wait to see you!
Now for more fun news. We are so enjoying spending this season of Advent with you, and we’re happy that it is finally time to announce our first reading plan of 2015!
On January 1, 2015, we will begin a study of the book of John! [applause! cheers! cartwheels!]
This will be our first time to read through one of the four gospels as the She Reads Truth community and, in case you can’t tell, we are off-the-charts excited about it! The John plan will be slightly different than our previous plans in that we will read and reflect on one full chapter a day, with our regular Weekly Truth break on Sundays. There is so much to discover in this rich book of the Bible, and we want to read it with you from a 10,000-foot view and marvel at the way God has woven together the Gospel story from the very beginning.
Since John is so wonderfully jam-packed with Truth, we will focus our daily devotionals on the person of Jesus and His identity as the Son of God. We will arrive fresh from the season of Advent and Christmas, celebrating that Hallelujah! He is Here!, and we will begin the journey of a brand new year by opening God’s Word and asking, Lord, show us who you are.
“In the beginning was the Word”, and it feels so sweetly appropriate to begin a new year right exactly here—with the Word.
As the person who has had the privilege of outlining this plan—reading through John and scouring notes and commentaries and throwing up praise hands in Starbucks (true story)—I can tell you that I want to jump through the screen now and hug you and say, Sisters, He is everything!
He is the bread of life! He is the light of the world! He is the door of the sheep. He is the way, and the truth, and the life. He is the resurrection and the life. He is the good shepherd. He is the true vine, and we are found in Him.
Whew. See what I mean? So much good news in the 21 chapters of this book. We can’t wait to get started and we hope you’ll join us!
OH! And there’s a new study pack, too!
The John study pack is just gorgeous. You can absolutely participate in the study without it, but if you want a lovely companion for the 24-day study, you’re going to love this pretty little thing we put together with our friend Chelsi Sohnchen from Anchor & Ink.
**We have a happy discount code for y’all that will work through Friday midnight – use the code GRACE to get 50% off 8×10 and 11×14 “Grace Upon Grace” prints when you order a study pack. (We just saw them in real life for the first time today and they’re incredible!)
That’s all for now – we hope hope hope to see you tonight! Click here to join us at 8/7C in Raechel’s living room for laughter and worship and singing and telling!
