Women in the Bible II: Day

Weekly truth

by

Today's Text: Luke 1:45

Today, as a body of women, let’s meditate on and memorize Luke 1:45.

While this is something Elizabeth, filled with the Holy Spirit, exclaims about Mary, let it also be said of each of us. Lord, let us believe and hold fast to all that you promise to us!

“Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!”  Luke 1:45

“If anyone, no matter who, were given the opportunity of choosing from amongst all the nations in the world the set of beliefs which he thought best, he would inevitably—after careful considerations of their relative merits—choose that of his own country. Everyone without exception believes his own native customs, and the religion he was brought up in, to be the best.”

You give up your ability to feel, and in exchange, put on a mask. There can't be any large-scale revolution until there's a personal revolution, on an individual level. It's got to happen inside first.”

What if we woke up today with the only things we thanked God for yesterday?

I saw this and I cannot recall the original person who wrote and posted this where I seen it, but it stopped me in my tracks. The Lord has indeed fulfilled His promises in my life. I have to be honest and say that I think I know what I would wake up to, but when it is hard to thank Him, sometimes I fall short and this verse and this past week has made me look at “blessed” in a new way. I want to thank Him when its easy and also when it’s hard. I want to lay down to sleep with Him knowing how grateful and thankful I am for all He’s done, what He is doing, and what He has in store for my future. Blessed is SHE. Blessed is ME. “Let us believe and hold fast to all that you promise to us.” Give us strength to endure. Help us not to get weary in well doing. You always keep your promises. You cannot lie. You never let us down. You always deliver. I believe what Your Word says and that it will come to pass. Hallelujah

Agreeing in the spirit with you Dr! Gods plans for you are done and no devil on hell or on this earth can stop them. I rebuke the spirit of fear for God has not given you that spirit so give it back! It’s all good my sister in Jesus name!

  • DrShanWalks

Thank you for this verse. I am reading this daily as I prepare to take my exams over the next two weeks. I know this is the next step in God directing me to what He would have me do for the kingdom next. Please help in denouncing the spirits of fear and anxiety.

    • cecilycharles

My "prescripture" to anxiety is Exodus 14:14. I try to remember that I need to silently (without worry or whining) trust in God and have faith that he will take care of me and His plans for me and I should "lean not on my own understanding." (Proverbs 3:5-6) And maybe even a little of Romans 15:13 – Joy and peace come from our trust in Him. Good luck!! :)

      • drshanwalks

Thank you for the scriptures. I must say I have had no anxiety today and I know it is because I am continually praying and have all of you interceding for me. I appreciate it and will let you all know how it goes in a couple of weeks.

  • To Shannon :
Thank you for reminding me that blessed doesn’t mean everything goes right but that you are at peace with yourself. That is something I have to remind myself and also have my close relationship with our Lord. Thank you all for helping me through a very tough time in my life.

  • Love love love this verse! Don't think I have ever read this verse before, but now it is one of my favorites, especially at this time in my life!

  • Great verse! I also agree that blessed doesn’t mean everything is going great but you are able to thank God for everything.. Even the challenges. Having faith and hope in His promises is a refreshing and optimistic attitude!

  • I love this Shannon: “blessed doesn’t mean everything goes right, but blessed means you are at peace with yourself and you FULLY trust in God. That you feel no shame, because your transgressions are forgiven and every day brings a clean slate. ” it is so easy to forget that is what blessed means…thank you for your wonderful thoughts!

  • My thoughts from my reading yesterday……"And no- blessed doesn't mean everything goes right, but blessed means you are at peace with yourself and you FULLY trust in God. That you feel no shame, because your transgressions are forgiven and every day brings a clean slate. We must share this blessedness with everyone!" The reading today continues to nourish my thoughts on being blessed. Blessed are us women who trust in God's word and meditate on it….for we know His TRUTHS will be fulfilled.

  • Amen!

  • amykelly213

I looked up this verse in all of my favorite translations, and they all have three words in common: blessed, believe, Lord (God). These words were the same no matter how they rearranged the others. We are blessed (made holy, set apart, fortunate, blissfully happy) when we believe (have confidence in the truth) in The Lord. He WILL keep his promise (CEV), fulfill what was spoken (ESV), fulfill his promises (NIV), and all He said will really happen (NCV). Every word will come true (MSG). Amen!!
