Prayer in the Bible: Day

Weekly truth

Today's Text: Matthew 6:10

Today, as a body of women, let’s meditate on and memorize God’s word. Not for our own glory or honor, but for the joy of our Father and the growth of His Truth in our hearts.

“Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”
Matthew 6:10

  • Somebody once told me, “the best way to make God laugh is to make a plan,” and it’s so true. We can try to plan & organize our lives till we’re blue in the face, but we really have no idea what He has in store for us. All we can be sure of is that it’s for the best, and that we can trust His judgement. Easier said than done, I think, but something to work towards…

I love the thought of God laughing at our plan! I am such a planner and get discouraged and frustrated when they don't work out.
I am so thankful for this study and all of my friends here on SRT in helping me become closer to God and see the different thoughts we share! Praise God for his love and all of you!

Tracy B, May i add my welcome.
A very good friend of mine once said when on a journey, if in a hurry, go alone. If not, (in a hurry ) go with friends.
It is true that we are all on a journey of faith, albeit at different stages, yet we walk together, encouraging , sharing, loving, praying, hoping with and for each other…..
    So welcome Tracy B. X

    Welcome Tracy B!!
So glad you’ve found this amazing site! I found it back in December and haven’t missed a day since. It has been life changing. I rededicated myself to Christ and have been going to church regularly with my kids. But my favorite time is the time I spend daily reading His word, writing it it in a journal and on my heart, getting to know Him better. I get soo much more understanding by reading all these posts by women all over the world! It’s a wonderful community of Sisters united in Christ. You are amongst friends! :)

  • Hello Ladies, I am new to this site. I only found it 3 days ago but I have been here everyday since and have joined this plan. I was able to catch up because the devotions and reading really speak to my heart. Today I went to church services for the first time in years. I just want to thank you all for being here and I look forward to being with you all on my journey of faith. Thank you and have a blessed day!

On thursday I posted an image on my site that illustrates what I have to do to get to the point of saying "not my will, but Yours". I think this whole week for me has been about yielding my will to The Father's. I have to rewire my thinking. If you are interested take a look at my blog. Much Grace Ladies

  • “Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”

Asking the Lord for confirmation to move forward before opening up a business from home. Reading the above post this morning was just a continuation…a perfect reminder to seek the Lord's direction before running with my own plans. The Lord's prayer. His will is so perfect and I want nothing less.

    Bless you my SRT sisters!

Good morning ladies. Blessings to u all.
I was thinking how many times I have prayed this prayer, ” thy will be done…
As a child I was taught and I memorized… I could reverb it at the drop of a hat.
As a young adult, and especially a mid adult I became so uncomfortable with “thy will be done”
Suppose his will is not mine? Lol. Wow growth, thank God for jesus. Today, today dear sisters I can finally say on the real! “Thy will be done! Cause I get it now. I receive it now! For he has been better to me than I’ve been to myself! His perfect will and love for me always takes me in direction I would not dare. Some rocky, some painful, some uncomfortable. But always great!

As with the prayer of Jabez, Lord bring it on. I know u know what’s best for me, I know u love me, I
know the plans u think towards me, they are always good, never evil. Today I will meditate on your word with no fear… thy will be done!
Sisters may the love of Christ Shine thru you on this Sunday!

The safest , most abundant, and freest place on earth or in heaven isn't a physical address at all. It is in the center of God's will! "There is a place of quiet rest, near to the heart of God." For all of you, SRT Sisters, for my family, friends, enemies, for all I pray that precious will of the sovereign Father may be yours today!

    • scripturesque

That was almost my exact prayer this morning. I have a chronic illness and sometimes I just feel trapped physically until I sit with the Lord and realize that I am SO free! At the center of God's will is the only place real life and freedom that exists.

I thought ths beautiful verse would go so well with today's scripture. have a wonderful Sunday! It was on a John Piper devotion. I love the part " may they forget the CHANNEL, seeing only HIM!"

May The Mind of Christ My Savior by Kate Wilkenson

May the mind of Christ, my Savior,
Live in me from day to day,
By His love and power controlling
    All I do and say.

May the Word of God dwell richly
In my heart from hour to hour,
So that all may see I triumph
    Only through His power.

May the peace of God my Father
    Rule my life in everything,
That I may be calm to comfort
    Sick and sorrowing.

May the love of Jesus fill me
    As the waters fill the sea;
    Him exalting, self abasing,
    This is victory.

May I run the race before me,
Strong and brave to face the foe,
    Looking only unto Jesus
    As I onward go.

May His beauty rest upon me,
As I seek the lost to win,
And may they forget the channel,
    Seeing only Him.

Thank you for sharing that scripture. It's a beautiful thing that
we can freely go in and comfortably raise our prayers to God.

Oh, that you would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil.

  • linda judge

Thank you for reminding me of the Prayer of Jabez, I used to pray it daily and somehow just stopped. I don't remember when or even why. I'm going to dust it off and start praying it daily again.

  • Tina blankson

Good morning precious and wonderful sisters, i sit here, in bed chuckling to myself, because after all that commotion on Friday(i still am uncomfortable with the old testament, ok some aspects) God reminded of of Jabez this morning, That wonderful 4.5.6.lines bout the goodness of our God.
    1 Chronicles 4:9-10 GNT

There was a man named Jabez, who was the most respected member of his family. His mother had given him the name Jabez, because his birth had been very painful. But Jabez prayed to the God of Israel, “Bless me, God, and give me much land. Be with me and keep me from anything evil that might cause me pain.” And God gave him what he prayed for.1chronicles4:9-10.
Dearest and most sovereign God, i dare to pray boldly today for your blessings, abundant BLESSINGS on us all and our families and friends. Thank you Lord God that you prompted of this morning about Jabez and that great story of how you bless even when all is stacked against you. AMEN.
Be truly blessed ladies. Happy Sunday. X
