Take time today and this week to commit Phippians 2:16 to memory.
…holding fast to the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I may be proud that I did not run in vain or labor in vain. [ESV]
as you hold firmly to the word of life. And then I will be able to boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor in vain. [NIV]
Hold firmly to the word of life; then, on the day of Christ’s return, I will be proud that I did not run the race in vain and that my work was not useless. [NLT]
holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain. [NKJV]

I believe in order how to read the Bible and to memorizes it more effective is to send more time in prayer to God and try and try to get little post it notes and write the memory verse on it and post it on your computer table. So it easy for you to memorize during the day.
To Caroline. I hope it helps you.
God bless you
Up until a year ago, I had always struggled with being a regular reader of the bible (shocking considering how long I’ve been a Christian). At the beginning of 2012, God challenged me & encouraged me to turn to His word daily.
Last year I faced many challenges & life-changing events & that daily practice of reading His Word got me through some hard times. God knew the Source that I needed.
I can’t stress enough the importance of spending time reading & allowing these words from God to penetrate our hearts, they truly do change us from the inside out. I’m not the same person. I can testify to this & my faith has deepened in ways I had not thought possible.
So any ideas how best to memorize verses as my memory is shocking?
God bless you all (that’s quite British :-)
Amen Latesia.
When we live for God and we run to his word every chance that we get. We start to change our thought process to where we start to think like Jesus, we start to walk and talk like him. After all we are created in his image, so with that being said we must carry ourselves accordingly in view of others and behind closed doors because if we dont we WILL BE held accountable for every action we take. For every action there is a reaction, for every situation there's a problem solver and his name is Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour . In this race we gotta be strong (we are soldiers in the Lord's army). Anything we go through in life we can and WILL make it through in the name of Jesus because we are mighty women of God. WE WILL OVERCOME…..We just have to keep running the race and hold on fast to God's everlasting word. Nothing will be in vain or considered useless. God can turn any mess into a message for his Glory!!!! Amen…
It's all about holding fast to the word of God. Whenever I get discouraged I run to the word and I always feel better afterwards. Only truth has that lasting value!
LIVING RIGHT AND PROCLAIMG GOD’S LOVE IS ALL I EVER WANT TO DO.
I like how the Amplified Bible says holding it out and offering to all. If I really want to run a race here that won't be in vain, I need to be offering Jesus to others by my words & how I live my life.
I. Am convicted. My new prayer each day will not consist so much of the things that I desire, but with the things of Gods people. Paul hadnanheartnfor the people of agog. His concern was that the stayed saved. And knowing that when he reached to be with the Father, then heart will be comforted in knowing that he is not alone. He had sowed seeds that grew and multiplied.
Let us encourage one another today to not only know God for our selves, but to help others come to know Hm too and be concerned for them. Blessings.
Timothy was of great value to Paul, not because of his great talents but because he had the heart of a servant. Timothy was genuinely concerned about others and wanted nothing more than to advance the Gospel. He was not seeking personal gain or notoriety. In spite of the talents we may or may not have, the most important thing we can offer to God is a heart that is purely and wholly devoted to Him, one that is wiling to yield to the needs of others.
I am convicted this morning of my own selfishness. How many times I have been concerned only with my own interests and personal needs. Yet, I am also encouraged to look beyond my own world and seek out those around me whose needs are greater than my own. I am reminded that when we take the time to concern ourselves with the welfare of those around us, God will so graciously take care of our own needs.
Who is it that God is putting on your heart? Maybe it’s a friend, a neighbor or an elderly parent. Ask God to give you eyes to see those around you who need the light and love of the Father. Whoever it is, take time to love them and encourage them as the Holy Spirit leads you. No time spent investing in the life of another person is wasted.
Hold firm to the word of life; then on the day of Christ’s return I will be proud I did not run the race in vain and that my work was not useless. Philippians 2:16
The key is holding fast to the word of life, Jesus. Many people walk by faith or claim to believe in Jesus but the Bible has no authority in their lives. We must let the truth of God’s word divide between soul and spirit.
This is so true, Melanie. It is so easy to fall into a religious form and not have the 'grafted' word in our hearts.
Thanks for that. We say all the time that we have faith to believe in God's word, but the authority of the bible in our lives, that's where we come up short.
I pray this take root in my life and y'all as well!
As long as I continue to walk in faith on the day of Christ return,I know that my journey was not in vain
So am I! So hard!
I can't seem to figure out how to get the lock screen :(
