As I finished up this study with this passage, I realized that our prayer life should influence our life on earth. It should make us loving. It should draw us to goodness. It should motivate us. It should encourage us. And when all those things aren't happening; when life is hard, we're told not to stop praying! Although prayer might be the last thing I may want to do, it will eventually get me back to where I need to be.

I really enjoyed this devotional plan. I feel like God really spoke to me about my prayer life :) Here is a summary of what this plan did for me: http://touchofsimple.com/2012/08/05/words-of-wisd… I am so excited for this new plan. Can't wait to see what God has in store for me :)

Through my trial I grasped onto hope, then I realized it's one thing to hope, yet another to be JOYFUL in it. Same thing with my afflictions & prayers. God knew in my trial I would draw off each one, so He made sure to tell me how to do it. I'm only sorry I feel short many times! Here's to praying for more joy, patience & faith :)

I'm so glad to have discovered this place!! This devotional was lovely, as soon as I came here tonight and learned of it, I went through it all in the last 2 hours… I'm sad it's done, but I hope to be able to participate more fully in the next study :)

The last verse reminds me so much of Ephesians 12:4-7… defining what love is, is so important … but I think the most eye opening part for me in the context of what this devotional is about- Prayer… Be faithful in it. Never stop.

I pray, but I don't think I felt the importance of it till tonight. Nor did I realize how important it was to continually bring forward requests.

Verse 12 needs to be memorized….such beauty in a short sentence! And a wonderful way to finish this activity. If nothing else sticks, these three things need to…

Loving others. that is the hardest thing, and I strive to every day. the verse about not being lazy and working for the Lord also spoke to me.

"…Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. " That's my goal for today!

I too loved today's verses. They are such a perfect example of love. I wish I had read these at my wedding. I only hope to love my husband and kiddos this way each day like the perfect love God has for each of us. What a beautiful end to the study…nicely done, ladies!

Love today's verses. Honoring others in a way that goes far beyond "just being polite" I think God is calling us to have a real genuine love~~which is going to take concentration and effort in some cases!! To me, it shows us to help all become better people. It takes our personal involvement in their lives to show this genuine love. To love because we are all sisters in Christ.
Putting others first.

i loved today's reading! It reminds me to honor others, including those for whom I am praying, above myself. Verse 11 reminds me that I must fervrently serve the Lord no matter what is going on in my life. And I especially love verse 12, because if there are two words which I strive to live my life by, they are hope and joy in.Christ. And I love how it reminds me to be both patient in my affliction and faithful in prayer!

I would like to thank all of you again who prayed for my sister-in-law. She is home, but she has a long road ahead. She is coughing up blood and having severe headaches. I would really appreciate continued prayer for her!

I love verse 12 too. I LOVE the word Joy. I did a study on joy vs. happiness and was very blessed by what I found. I will keep your sister-in-law in my prayers for sure.
