I am loving this Soul Detox series! It’s so encouraging to me, I have a passion to speak life-giving, encouraging words to people. I know how a single word can effect someone’s soul, their heart, their entire life—either for good or bad.
I do my best to try to see light in every situation and speak life into it. No, I’m not always successful, but I am thankful for grace and new mercies:)
I don’t know how many people will read this, but I’m going to share. I’ve created a jewelry line dedicated to this topic of speaking life. It’s a passion and a skill God has given me. I can’t speak life to every single person in the world, but if the receive a necklace that says “be free” or choose joy, then that is one person who I feel God has encouraged or set free. If you want to check it out it’s http://befreedesigns.bigcartel.com. I’d love to know what you think. I also have a Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/befreedesigns

Samantha, I just want you to know I'm praying for you in your situation. I worked in a very negative environment at one time, and I know how it can start to creep into your own life. Praying for you, friend, that God will light the right path for you. Be encouraged by His faithfulness and goodness!

Today's devotion really spoke to me. I've struggling for a while with my job and the toxicity it brings into my life. I realised today that the "bad company" is affecting the way I'm living my life and more over, my relationship with God. I have some tough decisions to make but I think it may be wise to resign before it gets any worse.
Would you mind praying on this matter with me? I've been ill for a while, and am currently suffering greatly financially. It's not the best time to leave my job but I definitely think that's where a lot of my toxic influences regarding myself is coming from.

I really like today's devotional. It's so important to surround yourself with good people. People that influence you to be better and do better. This is easy for some but some not. We get led astray I think during times when we feel vulnerable or alone…I think a lot of people get mixed up in toxic relationships to try and "fit in".
This is a good reminder to reflect on all of our relationships and make sure that we are focusing on those that bring us closer to the Lord and dissolve those that are making us toxic!

I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts on today's devotion. I just moved away from a very religious culture and I know that the bad "company" was harmful to my walk with God. But what about what Paul says: follow me as I follow Christ. Is there a balance between fellowship with good and bad company? I don't want to be mislead, but shouldn't I be leading?

What do you do? I'm sure its different for everyone, because God made us differently. Is it balance? Discernment? Something else?

Influences..We all have them-whether good or bad.Where to go? Who to follow? The people all around us give us ideas, influence, choices, decisions. We have to be careful who we follow, who we listen to,who influences us! It also talks about doing right+staying pure.
